City of Sheffield Saints started in 2006-7 and sit under the umbrella of The City of Sheffield Basketball Club. Saints have retained a nucleus of their original players - Garnet Gayle, Pete Olusoga, Chris Law & Chris Hackett, adding Kingsley Ellmer,Gary Bywater & Rich Fooks in 2007-8, and Javan Hayles in 2008-9. Saints have given playing opportunities to Junior Sharks squad members, including Devon Van Oostrum & John Stewart, as well as Jim Rose who is a member of the Saints current team.
The team name was chosen because of the playing venue and links with the All Saints Catholic High School.
Saints continue to train on Thursdays 8-10pm, and play the majority of their home games on Saturdays at 6.30pm
