City of Sheffield Saints gifted local rivals Mansfield Giants an early Christmas present on Saturday – Saints had a very poor first half, missed lay ups, turn overs and a lack of intensity, giving Mansfield a 14 point lead going into the break. Saints flew out of the blocks in the third quarter, going on an 11 – 0 run in the first 3 minutes, and closing only 3 points down. The real drama came in the final seconds of the fourth quarter - with the scores level on 76, the game heading for overtime, Mansfield's leading scorer was fouled and made 1 of his 2 free throws, and 2 seconds was not enough for Saints to steal a win. Final score 76 -77.
