City of Sheffield Saints gave Yorkshire rivals Leeds Carnegie an early Christmas present in yesterdays Division 3 clash, missing 6 free throws and having numerous turnovers. The referees appeared reluctant to blow their whistles at times increasing coach Gayle's frustration. Saints were without their 2 Junior Sharks players (coming away with a win against Birmingham) and definitely missed John Stewart's height against a young, physically aggressive team, coached by ex Sheffield Shark Voysie Winters. Saints have only won 7 games and lost 5, so will have to cut down turnovers, and improve their free throwing, if they hope to reach the play-offs this season.
