Saints topple league leaders.
City of Sheffield Saints brought Bradford Dragons' hopes of an unbeaten season to a crashing halt on Saturday with an 88-85 win on Dragons' home court. The game was close throughout but, after a shaky start, the Saints rallied behind Ellmer, Hackett and coach Garnet Gayle. More good work from young guns Jim Rose and John Stewart saw the Saints go into half time with a 48-40 lead. The Dragons came out firing for the second half and the Saints lost their advantage, trailing 67-60 going into the final period. But great ball movement and solid team defence got the Saints right back in the game and with the scores tied at 85-85, Luke Parker stripped the ball and found Pete Olusoga on the break for the go-ahead score. The Dragons called time-out to set up their final play but could only turn the ball over, leaving the Saints to hold on for an important victory.
